Pickguard options

Folks -
I have a Lava Pearl Bongo 4HH w/White Ice PG, and the pickguard just isn't doing it for me . . . . . and I have not been able to find a picture of the combo that I am considering, and well, the small samples of the pickguards on the color chart aren't very useful either.

So, does anyone have a picture, or thoughts on the following possible guards to go on the Lava Pearl?

1) Moonstone
2) Black Ice
3) Pearloid

(And, at least for now, that is my order of preference. What I can't tell is how large the pattern is in the moonstone, compared to the overall PG size . . . . .).

Why not wait for your Stealth HH and swap their pgs?

Well, two problems.

1) The stealth is a 5, the Lava a 4 (IE, won't fit . . . )
2) I think I would like something a bit beyond plain black on the Lava
3) I think white ice on the stealth would make me blow chow . . . . . .

Anybody who says Tort on Lava Pearl must be drunk and high. That might possibly be the worst Bongo/pickguard combo available...On second thought I am sure Medallion Gold and Teal Pearl with tort might look even worse.

Anybody who says Tort on Lava Pearl must be drunk and high.

I don't drink at the office, but it's after hours at Jack's house, so I can't vouch for him. Nobody expected tort to look good with rolls burgundy either when I trailblazed that color combination, but I gather it looks pretty good.

Red/tort is not an uncommon combination, so I don't see why tort wouldn't look good with lava pearl. Probably red tort rather than brown tort, but still tort nonetheless.

It'd have to be a "pizza red tort" which I generally don't care for myself on anything except black.

I'll have a Lava Pearl 4HH in my possession on Wednesday and if I had a tort guard available i would take a pic. Do you have a tort 4HH guard sitting around Jacko?
