Hey!

I've been playing EBMM's since the tender age of 15, but anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of any places that I can get a replacement pickguard for my newly aquired SUB1 Guitar.

Preferably in the UK as I don't want to have to incurr the headache following if it gets damaged in the post! Also, would the silhouette special pickguard fit fine on a SUB?

Cheers!

P.S. Nice lil' community you have going on here - if there are any guitarists from the UK (although those from other sides of varying ponds are welcome too) check out these forums that I also moderate.

:)

Sorry I don't know where exactly you can buy it, but I presume a Silhouette pickguard won't fit 'cause the SUB1 has HH or H pickups, as oposed to the Silo special which has SSS or HSS ;)

Hey there - welcome!

The Silhouette Special guard will fit just fine. However as Junior mentions, the pickup config will be off - the Sub's body is routed for HH. Raz (another member here) routed his sub for SSH and fit a silo spec guard - looks really good:

As for ordering one, Chandler in the US seems to be the preferred source. http://www.pickguards.us/

You're right but he'd have to change the pickups then... and that cost money ;D

I was under the impression Chandler made them for EBMM. Btw, the guard for Raz's Sub came from them - it was orginally mine for a Silo Spec.

Spud, when I check Music Man link, they seem to have only pickguards for Sterlings and Stingrays

Good point but they also make guards from your own tracing.
If it were me, I'd buy a blank and make one myself.
- or probably get my guitar making buddy (Mr Dearnaley) to do one for me.

Cheers! I'll get one on the way when I get paid next. If Canon ever return my Digital Camera that I sent in for repairs 5 weeks ago I'll get some pictures of the thing when it's done too for posting. :)

You guys keep using that SUB of mine I'm going to have to start charging a royalty fee:p

Yo Nad if you call Kenny at 1-530-899-1503(pickguardheaven/Chandler) and explain what you want, he can make you a SUB pupguard with the H-H config...I think the cost difference isn't much. He's a really cool guy.

Ta Raz, I'll bare that in mind. Won't bother ringing him though because I'm not gonna order for a couple of weeks yet (being a student has its pluses occasionally.. honest)!
