Stream of Consciousness wasn't played in the Score DVD.

No it wasn't, but it was played at various times during the rest of the Octavarium tour and, as roburado said, JP used the Egyptian Smoke guitar for the song.

Watch "Live at Budokan," adamrogo for "Stream of Consciousness." I can't say for sure whether or not DT played "Stream of Consciousness" on the "Octavarium" tour. It's been a while, and I don't remember. If the tour were in progress, I would definitely be able to tell you if they were playing the song just because that kind of information doesn't escape the watchful eyes of Mike Portnoy's forum. They definitely did play it on the "Train of Thought" tour. But pretty much, the guitars that were used on the TOT tour were also used on the Octavarium tour. If they were in one tuning on the TOT tour, they pretty much were in the same tuning on the Octavarium tour. Therefore, they were used for the same songs if certain songs were played on both tours. For example, "Endless Sacrifice" was played on both tours and had the Graphite Pearl both times.

The main Mystic Dream JP6 is in standard tuning.
The Egyptian Smoke is half-step down.
The Graphite Pearl is a whole step down.
I believe that there is a Sapphire Black one that is tuned to C.
There is also the Gunsmoke 7 and its backup, which I usually don't see. I think it is currently Mystic Dream.
Each of the guitars has a back-up in the same tuning, but these are the ones that he seems to be using whenever I've seen him and on the last two live DVD sets. It usually has not been the back-up.

Of course, JP being JP, this is all subject to change. Plus, with the F-1 coming, all bets are off until we see what guitars he's using for what songs on the next tour.

Yup I have the Live At Budokan ( I have all the DVD's, sue me ;) ), and they did play Stream.

As far as the F-1 goes, JP has been using it for his G3 gigs, tuned standard, but that was just the proto. I'm looking forward to seeing him play the 4 official coloured ones.

That ain't white! It's buttercream. That was the Ltd Ed colour for 2005. A white one doesn't look like that.

Foggy to the rescue! Quick, dig out a white JP6 and a buttercream JP6 so he can see the difference.

Ok! Ok! I guess you guys are right maybe it is buttercream sure looked like white to me.....I know that i have seen him with a buttercream JP....I just did not think that was it......Well maybe i'm going color blind or something, and the sad thing i have seen the DVD like 100 times:confused: Ok! off to get my eyes checked.

After watching some of the vids I've come to realize that the colour of your guitar very much represents your style.

I see the darker colours lean towards some of the heavier style of music, where as some of the lighter colours show some more mellow attitudes...

Of course, they all look amazing.

I just ordered a white JP but it won't be in until May. Seems like white is one of the more unpopular/rare colors for JPs (hence the low number of white JP pics on this forum).

After seeing several other colors (and taking into consideration how many colors the mystic dream i own can look like), I decided to go with White. I could only find a few pics of one in white, but anyone who has seen one in person says it is surprisingly sweet. I just hope it has a nice metallic element in the finish like the rest of the JPs i have seen in person.

Once it comes in i'll be taking some good pics of it and posting them so others that are considering White will have a better idea of what it looks like... I am somewhat unsure what to expect when i open the case for the first time as of now... Kind of adds some additional excitement to its arrival!

Black, white, red and blue have all been kinda done to death.

I really love my Lava Pearl JP7. About half of the people who see it call it "red" and the other half call it "orange". I lean more toward the "orange" side of things, but it really does shift a little bit depending on the lighting conditions. And it's a VERY difficult colour to photograph. I shot these with a digital SLR and still had to do a fair amount of colour correction to get them looking close to what the colour looks like in real life.

I really like the Lava Pearl (especially with a chrome knob mod) - looks downright striking IMHO!

Lava Pearl and Pearl Redburst are my two favourite standard colours... But the best MusicMan colour I've ever seen pictures off is the Dargie Delight - see if you can track one down, you won't be sorry!

The 2007 Ltd Edition Blue Dawn is really nice as well - just throwing a few more options at ya ;)

Darren, thanks for sharing the pics. forgive my noob-ish-ness .... but just how wide and hefty a neck comes on the JP7 ? It looks like an awesome chunk of wood.

Well, i'm not one to pull out the calipers and take measurements of my guitars' necks... heck, i don't even own calipers!

But allow me to say that the JP7's neck is one of the nicest i've played. I'm primarily a rhythm player, so i've never really liked the thin, wide and flat feel. I stayed away from seven-strings for years because the only sevens i tried were Ibanez, and their necks were all too thin and had a very "flat" feeling back that made my hand cramp up after playing them for a few minutes.

I've heard others describe the Petrucci necks as being very thin, but i don't perceive it that way. They're a very nicely rounded shape, not too wide, not too thick.

The best way i can describe it is, "one of the most playable necks i've ever played." :)

It's big enough that i can get a good grip on it, but not so big that it feels clumsy. I can play on it for hours without any fatigue on my fretting hand. It doesn't get much better than that.

I do sometimes miss the stainless steel frets and 4-lb. weight of my Parker Fly Classic, but the JP7 smokes that guitar in pretty much every other category.
