Newtley,

The sticker refers to 2 points of information when traveling through the production process. The first group on top is the work order number. Each Instrument has paperwork that follows the body and neck through the different departments and gets matched up during the set up process.

The second group of Numbers is the build number that lets the different departments know what instrument to build, what color, pickguard ect.

170 denotes Sterling and 53 is trans gold 20 is rosewood neck 01 is a black pickguard.

The numbers are meant for in house use only!

Thanks

Derek

well....then should I quickly remove it and discard of it cerimoniously, or is it as in the case of those mattress tags that I'd go directly to jail if attempts to remove or deface it are made..??
oh nooooo....is this the tip of the iceberg in revealing the Ultimate Secret Truth of the Mystery of Ernie's Ball???

.......what have I DONE?!?!?!..
