My next EBMM is going to be a single H.
I have found that I almost always solo the bridge pup on my HH lately.
I just love that crisp, gritty snarl. If I need thump and boom, I just adjust my right hand.

I prefer the single H as well. I can dig in near the bridge and get some nice attack. Or play below the neck for the low end thump, plus it leaves plenty of slap room.

On a Bongo I prefer the HH, though my single H is a mighty fine bass too
On a Stingray 5, the single H is the **** though, can't argue with the de facto standard 5 string.

I go for Single H just as it works better for me when I play with a pick, but I do love the power of HH though, close call but H just shaves it.
