I finally just finished carving the nut on my stringay and went to play it and realized there was something wrong my my pickup:( . Its the usual D and G string being much more quiet than the E and A. And when im slapping it always sounded so good and now the A string makes a wierd pop noise when I hit it with my thumb. Its not the normal pop sound the string should make when its hit (im not THAT dumb ;). And its not the nut either because its carved almost perfect. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of whether i should invest in another pup or open it up and check it out myself? And if worst comes to worst, does anyone recommend another pickup with the CLASSIC stingray sound? If not, how are the bartolini replacements?

1. do you have a piezo? I do and my wires were loose ... says the local guitar store fixed her right up..

2. New battery

3. pup's too high?

4. I thought you can get an orginal mm pup from eb if you send in your old one?

No I dont have a piezo on mine. I was actually wondering how they would sound. Whats yours like? I always wanted to hear or try one but my nearby store doesnt have them. They have about 10 stingrays and a sterling. None have piezo.

You wont find a store that carries a bass with piezo... for the reason... nobody know what it is so nobody wantas to buy it...I personally love it.. when i bought my bass i got the piezo on it because i figured hey if i dont like it i dont have to use it... it its great helps me to achieve very clean tones.. Speically when i use it with the single coil pickup selected.... I say get it... if you dont like it dont use it dont get it again?.. it also give you a fuller tone more undertones... i think ... so id say go for it
