Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I just got my Luke recently. Love the feel and playability. It's a GREAT guitar. However, I'm getting a lot of hum from the pickups. It seems no different than my other guitars. I was under the impression that active pickups are supposed to be dead quiet. I'm thinking of taking it to an authorized service center and having them take a look at it.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks,

Ron

I find my Luke to be much quieter than my other guitars, but alot of things can still cause hum, like lighting, ground loops, cords, computer monitors, wireless devices.

An easy way to test would be to take your guitar to a different location and test it, like a guitar store, or friends house.

You may want to contact customer service directly as that is the proper way to get help here, plus they are excellent.

Just stay away from your neon lights and computers - EMG pick the noise up very much.

There is no other reason why this instrument should hum.

Enjoy your instrument.

Hi Ron,

if you crank up the gain, even EMG pickups on the Luke have some hum which is normal. If you still are in doubt contact customer service.
