Pickup wiring different on Piezo guitars?
I'm replacing the bridge pickup in my ASS with piezo; the new pickup is a bareknuckle, which have always played nicely with DiMarzios in all my other guitars.
Straight away I noticed that where the PCB says 'red', the black wire was soldered. Interesting, thinks I. But since I'm clearly stupid, I figured I'd wire the BK the normal way, since empirical evidence suggests it works.
DOH.
Out of phase on the middle positions. Yikes. Quickly re-drew the wiring and color equivalence, re-did it and pfiew, the Hendrix tones are still there.
Any reason why this would be?
