I'm a big fan of the double hum buckers in the Albert Lee, but Filtertrons would be a very cool sound too. I've got some of those in a PRS hollow body and they sound great.

Pete, I'm about to route one of my pdn's 2014 to have an AL HSS.
Do you still own this axe? How did you like the combination? How was the Humbucker behaving with a 250K resistance?

I wound up selling the Blue Dawn HSS Albert Lee a while ago, and I think it has traded hands a few times since then.
I used it for some clean single-coil country tones when recording an album back in 2010, but I didn't find myself using the bucker on the recording. In the handful of gig scenarios where I used that guitar it was great to have the humbucker; I just didn't get along with the neck profile well enough to use it more often. I did not notice whether or not it had a 250k pot, so I can't comment on that.

Good question! I generally don't experiment with swapping pickups so hopefully someone else can weigh in.
