Hi! i've been a Stingray player now for the last 5 years. i will never ever play another instrument as the Stingray is just pure class.

i play a left handed 3 Band Stingray which is finished in Teal. My question is about the pickups. The poles have all started to rust, is this normal?? How can i stop it geting worse or how can i get rid of the rust.

the serial number for my bass is 00136, can anyone shed any light as to it's history?? apparently it was inteneded for the american market but it found its way over to England??

Cheers!

Matt

It is not unusual for the pole pieces to rust. Perspiration on the metal can cause discoloration. Use a nylon scrub to remove the rust, then apply a coat of clear nail polish to the pole pieces. That should keep the rust from coming back. Be careful not to get any polish inside the pickup.

The serial number you listed is not valid.

Thanks,
Greg
