hye guys on the forum, my question is this how high i have to configurate my pickups i have a jp6 with the d sonic and the custom made pickup, i have a little more presence and i want to know the high of the pickups please help me

Hey man, I would recommend to just use your ears and listen to what sounds best. Make little adjustments at a time and listen for that sweet spot. It might take you a little bit to find the way you like, but that's really the best bet. Of course another suggestion is to NOT have the pickup way too close to the strings or too far away. Hope this helps a little bit.

The pickups on all JP guitars are bolted directly into the body of the guitar. They are not adjustable like a Morse, Silo, Reflex, Les Paul, or Strat. To raise the height of the pickups, you have to unbolt them from the guitar first, then add shims (thin wood or plastic strips that are the thickness of the amount you want to raise the pickup) to the pickup cavity. You then rebolt the pickups to the guitar over the shims.

man you say the pickups are in the exactly higher??????

The pickups are mounted to the height that is optimal for John Petrucci because it is his guitar. This may not be the optimal height for you, so if you want them higher, you will have to shim them.
