Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the pickups in the Axis Super sport were equivalent to in the current dimarzio lineup, or if they are a current production model?

I have been playing the guitar with the stockers for a while, but i am not really fond of them anymore and i was thinking about changing them and i just dont want to replace it with the same thing...

It is the two humbucker model not the p-90 style...

thanks.

What type of pickups were used in the Eddie Van Halen MusicMan Guitar?

These pickups were only available as original equipment on the EVH MusicMan guitar. MusicMan replaced the Van Halen guitar with a very similar model called the Axis, which uses the same pickups. The closest-sounding pickups we offer are the Air Norton for the neck position and the Tone Zone® for the bridge position.

This is what DiMarzio says. And I think I remember reading somewhere here that the pup specs have not been changed from the EVH model days.

Edit: DOH! I just realised that DiMarzio themselves say it's the same pups...

DMZ says they are close to Norton & Tone Zone. Norton is pretty close to the neck pup; Tone Zone, IMO, not really... I think the bridge is closer to Air Zone but hotter (but isn't TZ the hotter AZ?) . You'll need f-space on the bridge, fyi...

Wanna sell the stock pups? wanna sell the stock pups?:D
