Hi there, I can't stand EMG's and want to replace the pickups. I'm sure this has been mentioned already but I have NO time to search through gaggles of posts. What would be a good Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio replacement without having to re-carve/route the guitar?

thanks.

Style of music and/or desired tone would be helpful. You can put just about any humbucker in the bridge position, and Dimarzio makes "no flange" pickups for the single coil slots.

If it were one of my Lukes, (and I've been toying with the idea for a few years to be honest), I'd put a Seymour Duncan JB in there.

Alder body, Seymour Duncan JB is a winning combo for sure.
I have a JB in 2 other Alder body Charvels, and it is an amazing tone recipe for my tastes.

Cheers,

Tom

I'm about to do the same with my BFR Luke 2 and i'm planning on installing a Suhr SSV+ and 2 Suhr ML Standard singles. They'll do them in the EMG configuration for you. Great sounding pups for my needs. (only installing those because I can't get a hold of a proper transition set)

Every time that old thread of mine that I started (where Dimarzio responded to my inquiry about the Transition pups) gets brought up I start contemplating changing out my EMG's in my BFR Luke II. I just can't quite pull the trigger for some reason. I really like the single coils in the Luke II, but the Transition pickups are just amazing. If only they would make the single coil Transition pups available for purchase I think I would have already done it. Guess Dimarzio doesn't really want my money that badly since I can't actually give them my money and get the pickups I want in return.

Hmm...they just told me they aren't available for purchase but never mentioned why. You guys may be right.
