absolutely gorgeous!!!

how do you find the single coil neck position in terms of sound?..... as its been that long since i tried one that i cant remember what it sounds like and im kinda thinking i should have ordered the MM90 version because i like quite a full clean neck pickup rythym sound and am hoping that it doesnt sound really thin...... if its like a tele or ideally thicker then ill be happy!

if anyone has pics of a maple neck too as ive ordered one then it'd be appreciated.............

I have to say that I was strictly a humbucker guy before I got this guitar. If a 3-way switch would have been an option, I would have gone with that. I really didn't think I'd use the single coil positions. Ironically, I find that I play either position 1 (neck HB) or 2 (inside coils) the most. That neck HB sounds great with distortion but is a tad dark for most clean playing (strictly my opinion). To me, position 2 produces the sweetest clean sound on my ASS. It's warmer than position 4 (outer coils) but brighter than the neck HB. Again, that's my own opinion. Others may disagree.

I almost never use the bridge HB or the combination of both HB's. Again, it's the first two postions that get the most use for me. I'm sure you'll love the ASS. It's a very versatile guitar with possibly the best neck in the industry. I can't comment on the MM90's as I've never played an AL or ASS with those PU's. Based on what I've read, I'm sure they sound very nice. Hey, there's your excuse to own two Asses!

thanks - i think black cheery burst to be the most sexyfull colour combo! its just so classy!

do you find you get much noise with the silent circuit bypassed? i ask as ive ordered a humbucker version an given time might need to switch to a P90 (Hbucker size obviously) and wondered if it'd be rather noisy....?? not that id really use it with any gain though so cant imagine it to be too bad.....

Somebody has to have some pictures of the Bunny ASS. My memory may be wrong, but I think Fing sold it. Did somebody here buy it??? That was a sweet BCB ASS.

Here's a couple of mine.
Guitars - a set on Flickr

ASS MM90 rosewood board. As for the MM90s, I'm adjusting to them. I've been a 1 guitar man (humbuckers) for the last 10 years, and it was quite surprising what a humbucker man I'd become. I'm used to a little more output I guess. I don't regret the choice though, I'm trying to get a good tone-diverse collection with as few guitars as possible!! Enjoy yer ASS!

I love the second position on my ASS as well,.......clean sound, turn up the gain a little, little chorus,.......awesome.

I do use the bridge ( 5 position) quite a bit, mostly for distortion rythmn and leads as well.

I would think that if you're considering ever going to MM90's, order it that way so you've got the silent circuit. I was switching between my "Axis-like" guitar last night with hums and the ASS MM90 and the Axis is noticibly quieter with the silent circuit. The neck position can put out a very "slash Les Paul lead" kind of sound with nice sustain.

Some people don't like the MM90's (how I got my guitar) but I've had no such thoughts with mine. I do think that I "need" and Axis with hums to keep it company, however. :D

what does Bunny and BCB mean? Is that an aftermarket bridge pickup in there?

Bunny is my beagle and BCB is black cherry burst, the bridge was an after market DiMarzio DLX plus mini hum but it has since been replaced with a stock mm-90 by the new owner.

I was so close to going after that one when Fing was selling it !!!!

Was\Is a very nice ASS and thought hard about keeping it but others were calling, at least it stayed in the forum family, Spud you would have liked it but an EVH hardtail is a great score, would have done that myself in a heartbeat, plus the next rendition of the Bunny guitar is on order:D
