Hey guys - I just got my first EBMM Petrucci and although I love the guitar, the piezo eq adjustment knobs are not aligned well with the holes in the plate. They all work ok, but it kinda bugs me. Is this normal/acceptable?

Thanks for any input...

Persoanlly, I wouldn't find that acceptable at all.

That does look a bit whack.

On the bright side, once you find a setting you like (bass, treble, trim) it's unlikely you'll be changing it.

Do the setting come out the factory adjusted so the settings are all mid like a 12 o'clock position?

BTW, that does look a bit off.....

Well, I guess I'll live with it. I spent most of this afternoon pulling off the 10s and putting on 9's, readjusting the truss rod, bridge springs and saddles. Now - even though I liked it before, it finally plays the way I thought it should. :D

Given all the work, I don't think I want to send it back. Since the knobs do work, and since they are set the way I like them, I'll just live with it - unless somebody knows if the board can be replaced easily. (The knobs are just cheap looking pots in cans soldered to a small circuit board - not very adjustable.)

To answer Koogie2k, I don't know how the pots were set from the factory - heck, since I bought the guitar from a disty, they may have even adjusted them. However, they do have detents at the center position, and I have both the bass and treble set there - seems to sound the best. I have the mix boosted a bit to avoid the volume shock when switching from mag to piezo and back...

Ya know, it's funny. I've bought a bunch of both expensive and cheap guitars. It always seems that the cheap ones have fewer cosmetic flaws (although they don't play nearly as nice). I definitely like the expensive ones better, but I'd think we could improve the finishing process a bit. I don't really know if this is a thumbs up or thumbs down for EBMM....the guitar plays nice...but two cosmetic flaws...hmmm :(

Thanks for the feedback.

Prolly got knocked around by the shipper... I'd find it hard to believe EBMM let it go like that.
