I feel the need to share my absolute love affair with the piezo pickup in the bridge of my fretless 5-string Stingray. I have had it for three years. I instantly got rid of both my other high end fretless basses. The piezo is absolutely even string to string (which is basically unheard of), and it provides a whole new additional world of tones when mixed in with the MM pickup or by itself. The Pino or Tony tone gets complimented with upright styles and a depth that absolutely rocks in the studio. 120 nights a year live I prefer 60% piezo in the pickup blend. If ya have a "regular" MM stingray 5, ya gotta check it out. If anyone else has one, let me know how you blend it..

Victor Broden- You don't know me, but I know of you. You see, we have something in common. We both are graduates of Musictech College(now McNally Smith College of Music) and studied under Mr. Terry Burns. You were in a Musictech add a while back and I thought that was pretty cool. For anyone that doesn't know, Mr. Broden happens to play bass for LeAnn Rimes. Welcome to the forum Vic! It's good to have another EBMM fretless/piezo lover and even better part of the MT alumni.

Welcome Vic!

Got a Bongo fretless coming any day now... With a piezo bridge. I can't wait, as I have heard so much about the beauty of the piezo bridge on a fretless! :D

LeAnn Rimes, huh!? So that was you I saw in Jackson NJ last month?

Hey Vic

Welcome! if you like the sr5 piezo........wait until we hook you on the bongoooooooooooooooo1

I'll give you a big +1 on that tip, BP. I've got piezos on both of my Bongos, and I absolutely love them. I do have to say that I prefer them with flats, but then, I prefer flats on my Bongos, anyway. :D

There is nothing like a Bongo with some broken in flats, and piezos, IMNSHO.
