This for anyone who has had the pleassure of playing an MM eqipped with Piezo bridge. Does it actually sound acoustic? Is it worth the price of the upgrade?

Also, a thought of mine is this. If I were to get a new Sterling, would I later be able to send it to EB and have a piezo bridge thrown on for a fee?

No, last time I checked EB doesn't do post-production modifications like that.

You might, or might not, be able to get it done by a third party.

Yeah, as I was heading to work, I was thinking about the trouble it would entail since it would require an extra knob and controls, ect. Thanks for the reply!

Anyway, any thoughts about the actual sound of the piezo on a MM?

On a fretless it adds a huge amount. On fretted it's a little different. The piezo totally steals away the bite of the MM bass, which is GOOD. Not to say I don't like the bite, but on an accoustic or mellow gig, you can get a very mellow. accoustic like sound with your bass. Boosting lows, cutting mids and highs, and piezo on full gives you a deep sound that would be impossible to connect to a MM bass without seeing it live.

I don't think you can go wrong with it myself. It never hurts to have "options" in your arsenal.

Right, but I am not really able to find a piezo used in my price range. Mainly I'm curious about it for future endeavors. I don't plan on having only one bass. :)

I understand - but without sampling one for yourself - you don't know what you might be missing regardless of how many basses you have... :)

Since no shop I can find just has them sitting around, and I know no one who actually has one, I would be forced to buy one in order to try it.
