I'd also vote FOR the piezo.

You never know what uses you may find for it. In my opinion, I'd rather have the piezo available, and not need it... than be lacking it, and run into a situation where I really wish I did have it. (follow me?)

I've used the piezo numerous times in the band I play in at church. Normally I play electric, and we have another guitarist who plays acoustic. When he's not there... and the song calls for something acoustic, I'm sure glad I've got the piezo, because it does an admirable job of taking the other guitarist's place. Even when he is there, I sometimes still use it, and together our two guitars produce something of a chorus effect.

All said... I love the flexibility that the piezo adds. Plus, if you ever decide to "upgrade" your JP7 and get a BFR, having the piezo will likely increase the marketability of your guitar should you choose to sell it.

Keep checking eBay and craigslist for deals on JPs... that's how I found mine and it has worked out very well for me.

Wait, really?

That may tip the scales a bit for sure....

Just wanted to reiterate that you DO NOT need a battery for the magnetic pickups to work with a mono cable. It's been a couple of pages since it was said, and I think it's worth repeating.
