Piezos and taperwound strings?

I appreciate that many of you (and yours truly) use various strings on our EBMM basses, but Beth makes a very good point.

Will you guy please not promote other people's products on our forum. If you want to discuss competitors products go to their forums. It is getting out of hand. please think before you type.

As the author of this thread, my point as stated in the thread title was to ask how the Bongo piezos work with taperwound strings. So, should I not have asked if they work with the piezos simply because EB doesn't make taperwounds?

I found out the hard way (by paying for shipping from GA to CA to fix broken piezos that weren't broken) that nylon tapewound strings don't work with EB piezo bridges.

Sure, I put the other options in the poll (my first poll--look where it got me), but that was just a joke, really. I was simply trying to avoid another mistake that cost me $$$.

Since you responded to my question, I was able to cancel the order for taperwounds.

Feel free to lock/nuke this thread--it certainly won't be any skin offa my teeth.

Well, you'll notice that in my poll that I was very good about the only Brand mentioned was Slinkys. And, you'll probably also notice that I spelled it both "Slinkies" & "Slinkys" since I couldn't decide which was the better plural of Slinky.


FWIW, I'll be very happy once Dude has his string dealership set up so I can order a 5 string set of EB flats. I've not found anyone who has them...
