Gav, some time ago I recall that you posted your step-by-step recipe for making mute pads from neoprene mouse pad material. I've done a search but came up empty - can you point me in the right direction? I'm thinking of restoring the mutes on my '76 fretless. Thanks mate.

What's the matter, Mark, flats not dead enough:p
Is that the once-white you are restoring?

I don't want to actually use the mutes, but I'm keen for the bass to be complete, just for the sake of it.

As for "restoring" the '76, the finish is original (white, aged naturally to yellow over 30 yeasr) so I won't be messing with that.

Mark, in the linked thread I have the pads in a straight line. Some Pre-EB bridges fitted the pads that way. On other Pre-EBs they were stepped. The bridge below is a 1989 with stepped home-made pads.
