An SX medium-scale P bass. The pinkburst one that comes with a practice amp and has a J pickup in the bridge position. My undercover bridge troll who works at Rondo told me. (You think I'm kidding about that bass? Visit the RM website....)

:p

As cool as the 25th is, my gut tells me that Jack isn't a guy who goes for fancy tops that much. His 20th is probably enough. He may well get the standard-production version down the road, though.

Big Al 5 is out. Even though Jack has mystical powers and knows where at least some of the bodies are buried being a spook and all, I think that being able to order something before it's announced is above his pay grade.

Bongo 6? Heck, y'all, Jack doesn't play above the 7th fret. What's he gonna do with a sixth string?

So I vote Big Al.

I hadn't considered a Big Al 5'er ... I could see that, based on some positive comments I remember you making about the Big Al. May even make more sense than a 25th, now that I think about it, since I remember you saying you typically pass on the bigger ticket stuff (BFR's & such), in favor of multiplicity - a healthy herd. I know what it's not ... one of those new Flea basses. ;)

The word "enough" doesn't exist in your Bongo-World, but you are selling the blue one based on pick up configurations, which leaves you with the bare essentials and, of course, the one offs that can never be sold. You like 'em fretted, which rules out another Bongo ...

And from what can be read here, you almost exclusively play fivers, which would rule out the Big Al as of now. So my guess would be a 25th five string, fretted and any pick up config, because it'll only be the first of many. :)

I hope it's going to be a Sterling 5 single H. Talk about "point and shoot!"
Seriously doubt the 25th or Big Al, too many controls. Simple minds, simple controls. ;)
