It's an HH, and I of course - being the old codger and all - had it cranked back to just the bridge humbucker.

I prefer a blend knob to a 5-way switch. That's why my only HH is a Bongo.

I love my three choices:

Sterling 5 single H
Bongo 5 HH
Bongo 5 single H

Position Four is coil 1 +4 in series, right? What does it sound like?

It is also my favorite on my SR 5 HH, closely followed by postion 2, but on the Stingray all combinations are wired in parralel. So it will sound a little different.

That's position #2. #4 is the inner coils (2+3), the numbering is from bridge to neck so #1 is the classic bridge pickup setting.

Look at the rosewood board on that. Beautiful.

The battery on my camera died right after this shot. I promise to do more and to do more, better.

Pretty though, isn't it?

Woah!!!

Medallion Gold looks very nice. Can you say something about the sound compared to a Bongo HH please?

When I started to look for 5ers I actually wanted a Sterling and ended up with a Stingray and a Bongo. I did not have the chance to compare them with a Sterling jet, so I am curious.

Are you telling me all this time of preaching bongos and you never tried a sterling?
