It is. Almost sold it last month, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. In all honesty, the Luke gets 85-90% of my playtime. The Axis I just stare at for hours on end and appreciate its drop dead gorgeousness. If only they did a maple top Luke...

I tried a Luke the other day... the neck was absolutely like nothing I've played before. And I didn't quite like it...

I haven't played a Luke in a looooong time. But I do remember liking the neck. It was more of a vintage Strat feel to me. Kind of chunky and narrow (for lack of a better way of putting it). Felt great though.

The only thing I didn't dig about the guitar (and this is totally personal preference) was the EMG's. I'm just not too big on active pickups.

Great guitar though.

The Luke has a very unqiue neck shape, its absolutely great. Nothing out there plays like the Luke, neither does any EB axe i've played, just great necks on all of them. Truly the best thing about EB guitars, the wonderful necks.

Its an absolute pleasure the play these great guitars every day. The funny thing is playing a strat or a Les paul, then playing an EB, you just want to chuck the rest in the fire.

The neck is the single most important thing in a guitar to me...whcih is why I will only ever play EBMM from now on. If only I'd discovered them 20 years ago and not wasted so much cash on other manufacturer's junk.

I have never seen the point of a 24 fret neck. You can get the 24'th fret note by bending at the 22nd fret anyhow. It just seems to spoil the sound of the neck pickup in my experience.

Another factor effecting string tension is whether the guitar in question is a hardtail or is equipped with a vibrato arm. Vibrato equipped guitars generally have less string tension than the hardtails, particularly if the vibrato system is set up to float.

Go to any music store that's got hardtail and whammy bar versions of the same model and try them out to see for yourself.

No. You misunderstood me.

I want to like it, because I really love the rest of the guitar, but it just doesn't feel comfortable when I don't play thumb over. And that's often.

The frowny face is because I want to like, but I can't. Like when you know some person, and you want to like her / him, but you just don't
