Hey Trent-

Glad to hear you were able to get your hands on some classics and pieces of guitar history. Those guitars certainly helped shape what we appreciate tone wise... HOWEVER, this is an Ernie Ball Forum... Paid for by Sterling Ball... i do appreciate and understand your enthusiasm but i probably wouldn't take this threat too far... just be cautious with what you post regarding other companies. Amps are generally OK to discuss but Guitars are a different story...

Wow Trent since you said it was through your rig I guess you knew the person who owned the guitars, those are two you dont get to play everyday.lol So what did you think about the tone on them and also how did they vary from each other.

If that was really a "REAL" '59 LP, it could fetch a price that's higher than my house and cars combined.

I'd like to hear more of what you thought of it. If you post your experiences on another forum, PM me a heads-up.

Sorry guys, I should have thought this post out before I posted here.
I had just finished playing them when I posted this and had to tell someone!.
I dont post on any other forums so this was it.
I will just say that yes I know the guy that owns them both and that they did sound awesome. The 59 very VERY flamed out.
I can see why the old ones are so popular.
I wont post again to this thread so if anyone wants to lock it that will be cool.
Sorry for the miss step.

I don't blame you for being excited; I would be too. I think anyone on this forum understands the significance of those guitars, and their influence on the guitars we play today. Glad you got to do something I have only dreamed of.

I love my Axis. :)

If I had one I'd sell it to a collector and buy some EBMM's, some amps, gear, and maybe a new car. At some point when a guitar becomes so valueable, the risk of playing it is too high.

+1

I LOoOooove my EBMMs... But would still love to noodle on '59 one day :)

I once got to noodle on a super clean blonde 57, at one point it was part of John 5's collection.
Made my day... Right up until i got home and plugged a ball in :D
