Our bass player brought her Silhouette Special to practice yesterday and I spent several hours with it. This being the first real EBMM guitar I've played, I must say that I'm quite impressed. I'm no shredder by any means, but soloing on it was much easier than the guitars I normally play. Sounded good clean and with pedals through my Twin.:D

The fretwork in particular was fantastic, I must say. The only thing that I didn't care for as much was the size of the neck. Though it felt great, I had some wrist pain after playing lots of chords, similar to a Suhr I used to have. I don't have this problem with thicker, beefy necks. Is there another model I should check out that maybe has a little more girth in this department that might be more comfortable for me?

the original EVH might be the ticket, not sure how different the Axis neck is to that. I'll compare it and get back to you.

Try the Axis...

For the record, the Axis neck is very, very slightly (at 1/32", most would say "insignificantly") larger than the EVH, at the body end of the neck, only... They're exactly the same size at the nut.

Try the Albert Lee as well. Totally awesome, under-the-radar guitar.
I really like the looks of the Albert Lee, especially the MM90 version. Finding one of those to check out may not be so easy though.:(

I'll be travelling through Atlanta and then Birmingham in a couple of weeks so maybe I can find one in a store to at least try and see if it suits me.
