Why were Subs discontinued if they were so popular?
There are a few on right now actually.
SUB 5 - bit overpriced though
SUB 4 - again a bit overpriced but could be worth watching if you're the only bidder
SUB sterling - nice looking and very rare on these shores!
SUB 5 - pretty decent price there if you want a fiver
SUB 4 - red, looks sweet in the right light (i have one of them) but this one is well overpriced
You're looking for about £300-£400 for a good price, and they do come up, i got mine for £350 last christmas pretty much mint
No worries mate, i'm always on the lookoutThank you very much, I will certainly be watching that SUB 5, if the price doesn't go too silly I might treat myself to an early Xmas pressie.
You the man! Cheers
don't nobody bid on that please!(joke, game on!! )

Maybe in the USA! You're looking at double the price over here! Sometimes less sometimes more, but i'm pretty confident that the combined worth of BOTH of my SUB basses wouldn't equate to one stingray (probably because one of them was hashed together by myself), though i would like a stingray one day.I never understood why SUBs appreciated in value a couple of years ago.
I sold my passive white SUB 4 for around $650 or so last year and I say good riddance! Don't get me wrong, my SUB was a great bass for the $$$ but for a few bucks more you can get into a used (almost a new one) Stingray.

The active electronics, MUCH better finish, nicer looking headstock finish, better pickguard, etc. of Stingrays basses are much better IMO than the SUB I had. The SUB was a quality instrument and the fit/finish was better than most other manufacturer's MIA basses.
Of course, people pay $4000+ for 60's Hofner Beatle basses too.... they are definately not buying them for their superior construction but their percieved scarcity and/or potential to appreciate in value.
As kind as your offer is, i'd really be looking for a 4 string, the SR5 necks are a bit chunky for me, but thanks anyway!Young man start saving up, coz in a couple of years I might get me an HH SR5 and would be more than happy to sell you my present SR5 H in mint conditions. Since you are in UK I'll even deliver it to you, aye?
Yeah i know what you mean, i think the finish looks really nice in the right light and the painted black neck/headstock goes really well with the body colour on my red one, though i did have to put a black PG on, looks sleek and sexy nowI wish I would have sold it a few years ago then..now with this economy it seems to be a buyers market..can't get top dollar right now unless you get very lucky.
Now my SUB does have active electronics (optional) and I actually like the textured finish, painted neck, headstock and diamond plate looking pickguard..I am one of those that like different oddball things. But it does not play or sound as nice as my 90SR4 did, thats for sure but I feel it is a good value considering other basses in the same price range. And my fingers are crossed that they appreciate again.
