While waiting for my Dargie Delight, I am passing the time by buying other basses.

I thought that's what everyone did.

In Georgia or Alabama you could probably go get a thump or two in on one that is already there. Stanky comes to mind. He is amassing SR 5's at a rate that is mind boggling.

Best thing to do is hang out here have fun and get to know everyone while you are waiting.

I also believe you must suffer long and hard to out suffer Foggy.

These two gentlemen speak the truth, from experience!
I thought my fretless dargie sterling was gonna be my 1st EBMM fretless.
But during the wait I knew I couldn't pass up an unlined fretless 30th...so I got it. lol.
There is no good way to pass the time, but getting another bass takes your mind off if, at least for a short while!

I have 9 months of waiting for the 2007LE BlueDawn Bongo! ARRRG...
hehe, but at least the dargie doesn't seem so far away now!
To pass the time I'll try learning to solo over Giant Steps in all 12 keys.

Any forum member is free to play my SR5s. I'll most certainly bring ALL of my basses to the South Eastern EBMM Forum Member Hootnany at Jason's house. :D

Given you don't care what color you're getting, just walk into a store that has something in stock, or buy online. The larger online bass specialty stores have truckloads of Stingrays in stock ready to go. No waiting.

I do care what color Black or Trans Teal, my local store didnt have either one..

yo man, since you live in atlanta you could always pursue your education at emory, eat at the varsity, get a six flags season pass, go boozing in buckhead, visit the botanical garden, sit in 285 traffic, get stoned and go to guitar center, watch a show at the fox, take marta, watch a thrashers game, sit in 75/85 traffic, go to underground (take a gun), hit up the coke museum...or you could just get addicted to one of those online roleplaying games...that usually kills 4-6 months!

or you can just lurk here and talkbass

Yeah, I ordered my bass just as football season ended, ahhhhhh. But watching the Atlanta Falcons is just about as painful as waiting for a bass. I will probably spend a lot of time trying to decide what bass amp to buy. I had decided on GK, but then I heard Mesa & Eden.....tough decision. lol

Hence the reason I posted two links to several black/rosewood Stingrays in stock at two of the largest EBMM dealers in the USA. I'm not sure how the US distribution network operates, but in Australia the EBMM distributor has the ability to locate EBMMs in stock at any dealer in the network in the country (yes, even competing dealers) and arrange for them to be transferred to another dealer to fill an order. Might be worth asking your local dealer to inquire about that option, as it seems crazy to wait 6 months for your bass to be manufactured, when the exact same model is in stock in the first two stores I checked.

I can second that on the GK.

The wait is always the hard part. As they (whoever they are....I would like to know..) say, "Good things come to those who wait." Keep in mind, that bass is the one YOU ordered. It is being made for YOU. YOU will love it more knowing it was built for YOU. I would suggest practicing as much as possible to keep your mind on your playing and to keep your chops up. Once the bass arrives, YOU will not put it down and it will make YOUR playing that much more special. We all go through it...it's an addiction we all have. No cure my friend....Big Poppa waves more and more guitar/bass goodness our way and we can't help but want and buy them. It is part of the process....but what a wonderful process it is.
