I have lusted over a Stingray long enough. I have failed in my countless attempts to try to sell my F*nder American Precision bass and have failed in all of my attempts to trade it for a Stingray 4, Stingray 5, and even Sterling. I tried to sell it to Guitar Center today (not a smart move) and all I could do was walk out with my original bass as all of those fine Ernie Ball products still hung on the wall. Is there any chance that someone on this board might want to buy it from me or knows of someone who would want to buy it? I'm asking $775 for it because it's in mint condition without a sign of wear (maybe because I haven't played it but a handful of times). Here is a picture of it, I can get more of them if you want. Please help me fund my Stingray.

And I know that this tread will probably get closed, but it's worth a shot if there is a chance I can finally get a Stingray.

I don't see anyone closing the thread, but I will say that unfortunately, you might have your sights set a little high at $775 for that bass. This is maybe why you still have it after the attempts to sell.

I'm not saying it's not a good bass nor would I tell you it's not worth what you're asking, but I see an awful lot of good MIA Fender (Ps and Js) going for much less than that on the used market.

Just the terrible reality.

Wow this is quite possibly the most heart wrenching plea ive heard in a long time! Some one buy this man's bass so he can join our ranks! You may have to ebay it bro, then turn around and buy a used SR. :(

Thats a great looking P. Id say to advertise it at TalkBass or eBay. $650 shipped is a little more realistic for a used mint P-Bass. Sadly the used market has these going from low 5s to mid 6s.

Ebay that bad momma and see what comes up. This is a pretty small audience you have here on this forum.

And mostly EB players.

At the very least, post it at www.bassgear.com

It's free, and will be seen by a lot more people.

Just don't take any Western Union payments for $4000 and send the guy the difference with the bass.

Thank you all and this is why I enjoy it here in the Ernie Ball forums :D I'll post it on bassgear.com and then if nothing happens I’ll try the dreaded bay.

Andrew, it's a 2002 and the color is call Aqua Marine and it's great color. I love this color and it looks so amazing up close. It’s probably my favorite F*nder color but they discounted it, shows how much my opinion matters.

if you do put it on eBay. make it available to people over here in the UK, as having a Fender seems to be a bit of a craze nowadays over here. I just stick to my Sterling and i'm fine :)

Good luck anyway!!

Be sure to be honest about its value... And remember, value is what the market will bear, not necessarily what $$$ you paid/want/need.

Price it right and it will sell. :)

Hate to be another bearer of not so great news, but I had a American P-deluxe that I couldn't sell, period. I wound up trading it for a Hartke amp that someone was selling for $500.

I doubt anyone here is going to jummp on that. Did anyone refer you to www.talkbass.com yet? Sorry, I dind't read all the responses.

I really think you might have to drop the price even a bit more if you don't want to wait around.

I just noticed that. I didn't think it was always like that. Anyways another day and hopefully it will catch someone's interest somewhere.

Make sure if you Ebay it & decide to sell it worldwide, make a clause stating that overseas bidders have to arrange for their own shipping arrangements.
Ebay is the better way to go. When I switched to EBMM & started offing my Fenders, I got decent money for them.
Hell I got $700 for my Geddy Lee Jazz from a guy in Italy. It did come with a genuine Fender Tweed case but there was nothing special about it........it's just that it costs a lot for a guitar like that in the shops over there & it was cheaper to buy my bass & spend $300 for shipping rather than buy one already over there.
The cheapest I've bought a Stingray for is $700......and even an active SUB is a good way to go.
