I just saw a naked metal ware near my potentiometer. it doesnt connect to anywhere. is that normal?(mine is AXIS).whats that for?

thanks Colin,but i think there is only one naked metal wire. the other wires all have insulating cover.

It should go from the ground lug and touch the back of the control cover when it is installed

Touching the control over? what is that wire for?
