If you can drop another $100 or so, p/u a cheap Digitech multi effect pedal. They’re like toys but you can get all kinds of different sounds that will keep you practicing for hours.
Well I've had about 30 min to tinker with the micro cube. From what I can tell it's pretty solid (i'm pretty ignorant to all of this) but the thing kicks butt! I'm gonna play with it all day tomorrow and try my best to dial in a tone similar to Petrucci's (The best I can with a 130 dollar amp that is)
Is it just me or are you guys also OCD when it comes to keeping your BALLS clean. I wiped the whole guitar down with a cloth, made sure all the volume/tone knobs were to 0 and put the piezo and blade both to the middle position. I dont know I cant just toss it back in the case. I JUST CANT!
I clean mine every few months or before a special show or occasion.
I will be sure to clean it after tomorrow night's gig since I will be at the Philly guitar show on Saturday to meet Derek and other members of the EBMM family.
Gotta make sure she looks nice when everyone gets to meet her
Pick up a old line 6 amp second hand for now, i love mine for home use, have a duel rec for live which is just for that purpose but you dont have to spend big bucks on a home amp and modeling amps i think are best for this!
Guys, he already said he got the micro cube, haha. Congrats man! Those things are pretty cool. I was thinking of going that route as well when I saw Alex Hutchings demo it on youtube..that guy is crazy. But I ended up with the Blackstar HT20 which kicks some serious a** with a 1x12 mesa boogie cab...it honestly destroys the Egnater lower wattage amps in the gain department. Not even that expensive and has plenty of gain and versatility. I'll have to do a demo maybe next weekend .
