When you give them to your wife, tell her that they were roses and you were jumped by a gang of bass players. Tell her that you fended them off with minor damage to the "roses"and as they were running off one of them dropped, no, two of them dropped their basses. One being an envy green 2-band. The other being a sapphire black HH.
If she doesn't buy that, tell her you took this advice from a single guy. Maybe she'll have enough pity not to kill you.
What's funny is my wife is very understanding about my equipment. I bought a sapphire black HH at a GC sale a week or so ago, and it just didn't sound that great, so I returned it. But I called her as I was going home and told her about the bass. She commented on how no husband she knows could just buy something like that without consulting her and have his wife totally cool about it like she is.Mobay45 said:Yoda? Is that you?![]()

Wasabi said:Hey, folks...My only StingRay has been a single pickup 5, which obviously has a 3 band pre. I'm used to cutting the mids to tame the beast on mellower and funk slap stuff, and bumping the mids for that extra Jaco-ish deal. If I go for the single pickup Sting 4, it has the 2 band. How does one dial in a slap sound with it, and how do I bump the mids? Did any single pickup SR4s have the 3 band? Obviously the Sterlings do. Do you SR4 players like the electronics vs the ones on the Sterling?

The main reason, I guess, other than that she is an amazing woman, is that we have worked out a system...Any gig money I make is split 50/50 with her...she is after all home with the kids while I'm out gigging. We put that money in an account, so if I have the $$$ in there, there's no problem. That way, I can feel like a pro, spending less than I'm making doing music ;-) The nice part is that at times, she's let me borrow against tha balance ;-)
This time, as well, it's not as much want as need. For teaching, I need a four. I pretty much only play 5s, although I can't say I won't enjoy having a new axe to wield.

Musicman Nut said:Well funny you just said that, UPS just dropped off 4 more stingrays, but anyway I just speak the truth, Just tell me what you want me to say and l'll write that, lol DJ
