PLEASE take a stand for the Bongo.

To my eye the Bongo has it all over the peavey. No contest. :) Looks wise I think the Bongo is the hottest design out there.

I have only played my cheapo Ibenaz so I can not comment on the other end.
I say cheapo because it is one of the cheapest models out there.I am either going to take it apart and paint it for fun,or shoot it when I get my Bongo. :p

I truly know zip about Peavey Cirrus basses. I continually hear what great values they are, but personal knowledge? Nada.

Way back in the nasty mid-80s, I was being sent to Central America and didn't want to take a "good" bass, so I bought a Peavey something or other, maybe it was a Patriot? I know it was cheap, that much I remember. Seriously, I kind of like Peavey gear, too, for the money.....

...anyway, I was glad I brought that Peavey bass with me and not something, um, you know, "nice".

I like to think that it's still down there somewhere, rattling around in Nicaragua or Honduras, playing salsa or something. I don't miss it, though.

I agree....I love my bongo and my JP's. Best bass I have played within my price range. I tried some really expensive ones, but, I am not good enough to warrant such an instrument of that price range.....and, it was not a "show stopper" enough to me to say I like it better than my bongo.....

EBMM's are pound for pound the best.

I don't think Peavey buyers are the type of bass players who would be capable of appreciating all that the Bongo has to offer. Let them continue to live in the dark.

i love the sound of a bongo. The body just looks to wierd for me though. I think its defenitaly better than the peavey though.
