Plug In A Music Man Bass, Create Something, Post, Repeat.

I reckon the bassline fits well with that style of music, I especially like that first one!

Always nice to see another Opeth fan around here! One of my favorites of Heritage. Liked & Subbed, I've got a couple of Opeth covers up as well if you ever wanna check out how the Bongo 6 goes :)

Here is another new song played with the Big Al 5 H. I really like that bass!

Stupid question from someone who grew up with 4-track reel-to-reel tape recorders. Exactly how do you get the music from your bass/vocals/drums into a wav or mp3 player on your computer? What connects your mixer with your computer? USB?

Also, what recording software do you use?

Thanks,

I connect my instruments/mics via a digital audio interface (Tascam 1641) to my PC and use Reaper as my Digital Audio Workstation. Feel free to PM me if you need more direction.

Well, this is not a home recording.

In this case this is a fully miced live recording of the whole band, recorded with a tascam harddisc recorder to 16 tracks or whatever. The bass was recorded with the ambient or room mics and an additional track using a sansamp bddi as a DI box.
I used my rig, a mesa m6 with a custom built 4x12 cab.

The vocals were added later. It was mixed by our madoline player. I guess he exported it from his mixing software, probably logic as a wav file and then converted to mp3.

Nothing special here - just a little groove inspired by my cranky old kalimba. I plugged in my MM SR Classic 5 into GarageBand on the iPhone.

Word! You've done good work. Supremely jealous of your Bongo ownership. Wish I had one.

On a separate note: I recorded and mixed my old band from high school for a final project in my Studio Recording class. First session I ever planned from the ground-up; I think it turned out reasonably well.
