To be honest, I don´t like the look of the Bongo very much, but the sound of this bass is absolutely fantastic! Great work on this one, Keko! It´s fun to listen and watch.

walk it out Keko.......walk it out baby.......nicely done.

Thanks guys, ...it was really fun to play that one.

Andreas, ...I like my single H Bongo the best, it's my main axe now, ...very simple to operate, so You can focus to the music, ...yeah and the tone is awesome, ...it's kinda modern Stingray, ...sounds like a Stingray on steroids!
Talkin' 'bout design, ...You simply like it, or not, it doesn't matter, ...design is a personal issue anyway!
I like it!!!

Cheers, Keko

Tryin' to pick up the pieces, home amateur video, ...great tune, ...slight problems with getting into the breaks without a live drummer, ...but Bongo can do this vintage stuff with no problems at all... :)

Here's the latest release from Tin Star Orphans. All EBMM content here. I switched between the Roasted SR4 and the Honey Roasted Bongo 4HH. Played through my Little Mark Tube 800, and re-amped with a 2x12 and 1x15 Emperor cabinet. MarkBass Compressore pedal, and a Wounded Paw Battering Ram for OD and Fuzz.

Hi guys, check my new bass cover with a Bongo, ...it's a great smooth jazz tune from one domestic author from my hometown, Fandabbydozy, author is saxophonist and composer Igor Gerzina.
Really great tune, indeed, very popular in the USA at few smooth jazz radio stations too.

I love the sound of that Bongo!! Are you still using Slinky's on it? What was the signal path? Any effects? Amp?

Yeah, Bongo rocks, ...still factory slinkys in this video, but previously washed in the dish washer (tone refresh and increase strings life for a next few gigs). ;)

Signal flow was like it follows:
Bongo => Neutrik plugs soldered on the Klotz professional guitar cable => Carvin MB12 bass combo, preamp set flat, only used one knob compressor (2/10 level) post switched => DI out with GND lift on => XLR to 1/8" dual mono (L+R) home made cable => PC sound card line in (Creative Labs) => PC sound card line out into the Sony DVR RCA line in + video in from Practica lens (recorded in Dolby 2.0 stereo sound mode and SP video mode).
Bass level setup about +3dB over the original sound track.
Bongo preamp setup: high full cut, middle 30% boost from center click, bass 10% boost from center click.

Cheers, Keko

I usually cut the high on my Bongo too. But the mids and bass . . . a little goes a long way. It's a powerful preamp.

Very interesting. I've never tried a setting even close to that on my SR5.

SR5 is whole different kind of beast, ...Bongo has got the Neodymium pickup, it's soooo wide (sound wise), so I usually cut highs, bass knob is mostly set flat at live gigs and I occasionally tweak with mids during the gig!

Unfortunately my reflex is for sale in a 2nd hand offer at my EBMM dealers store, ...damn bloody recession over here in the S-E Europe!!! :(

Don't do it!!! You'll regret it! It's perhaps the most beautiful bass I've seen.
