So in my previous thread, I posted my newly acquired honeyburst Silo Special. I want to get another pickguard and load it with some different pickups. I have the pickups figured out. I want Dimarzio hum-cancelling singles: Tone Zone S (bridge), Pro Track (middle), and Air Norton S (neck). What has me puzzled is what color I should go for?

I would probably get the pickups in a similar color as the pickguard they'd go on. IE, white on white pearloid, cream on vintage pearloid. The only variation is black pickups on tort.

So here's the guitar as is:

Here's vintage pearloid (new EBMM pg color):

My vote is for Vintage White Pearloid! I think it will complement the amazing maple neck beautifully. However I personally think black pickups on the vintage white would look really cool, adding a little bit of some contrast. Than again, those great pickups you chose for this beauty all have black coil bars, so the vintage covers will be fine either way since part of the pickups are black. Very cool guitar, and I wish I could have this exact guitar to do exactly what I describe. Good luck with the beauty and post a lot of pics when it is complete.

I like the plain white, but understand this is for a second custom drop-in. Stunning color guitar.

I'd like to see how it would look with a mint green pg and black pups/knobs/covers.

I am giving some thought to the vintage pearl with black pickups and knobs. THis guitar screams vintage, and I think a classic look is the answer.

BTW, anybody know where to get the Molex connector????

You need a dark color to set off the lighter burst that is honeyburst IMHO, so go with flat black. Plus you're looking for modern tones, what's a vintage pearloid pg got to do with that?

AMEN, bro! Get something dark to go with the outer edges of the body. I'd say black pearloid or ice. I don't think Tort would work because there are no other brown shades in the guitar.
