Would you buy a Bongo with a damaged finish?

Yeah - You might even be able to have a professional touch it up a bit - However, I don't think it's a big deal myself...

Make sure you ask about silica packs....

It will get dented or scratched eventually anyway if you gig with it, so I have no problem buying a bass with a ding. Actually, I feel more comfortable gigging with a bass that already has a ding, since I don't have to feel guilty about being the first person to ding it. I guess it depends whether you want to display the bass in a glass case in your living room, or get out and play it.

I would only get it if gold is the color you want-- or if you really like the bass otherwise.

you'll regret saving the few extra hundred if there is another color, such as kermit the frog green :D , that you are lusting after.

Right now the color is secondary. In the long run I know I would like another color better, but when there are no other fretless Bongos out there, gold looks powerful good!
:p
Oh well, by the time I called Bass NW the second time, they had a deposit on it for Saturday pickup. :( Everything in its time, right?

It's like when you buy a new car. That first ding really hurts, but after that, it's not nearly so traumatic. Someone has saved you from that sick feeling on this one and you won't feel like your carrying a dozen eggs everytime you get it out of it's case. Go to an automotive paint supply store and see if they can provide some touch up paint. There's bound to be a car that color in somebody's line.

Are the silica packs scratched or dented too??? Are the packs still under warranty??? What is EBMM's warranty policy on silica packs anyway?
