and a happy new year!!! Right now, I see a lighter version of my SR5 with a pickguard that I prefer and that's enough for me. It will be mine....oh yes, it will be mine.

I love Jack...this is my design.....Dudley has been very helpful...Dargie posted the pic of me imitating dargies bob marley roll off the treble fire up a fatty face....
So here it is....
Whats going to be different? The body is going to get boosted about 2% the string spacing will be the same but it will be a "faster" neck carve....the headstock will shrink as much as the tuning keys will allow....
The Sterling 5 will be ceramic pickups much the same as the SR5...here is the bomb I've been holding back......when the Sterling 5 ships the Stingray 5 will only be available in alnico......

Sorry to disappoint you unrepentant...maybe when these get closer to completion they may start to ring your bell. Posting protos is always dangerous and we are the only ones who let you see stuff first.

That's cool to hear about the pickups, and makes a whole heckuva lot of sense.
When you say string spacing is the same, do you mean the same as the SR5? the 17.5mm neck?

Dang, first the Bongo 6, then the Stankyburst, and now this.
What a sweet year 08 is shaping up to be. I thought EB gave us a great 07 with the Blue Dawn, the Dargies shipping and the Desert Dominatrix but it looks like 08 will be even bigger!

....will it come as a lefty?
Though keep in mind that I can't afford both a sterling 5 and a Bongo 6, so releasing only one or the other as a lefty would be great. Not releasing either one as a lefty would just be.....wrong.

Steve, I would think he means the string spacing for the (Sterling) 5 will be the same as it is on the (Sterling) 4.
