BP sorry about that no hi-jacking intended. I've never heard of Rodney Crowell, but I'll certainly be looking him up.

Start with the Houston Kid and then Ill give you the next......
I got my first listen with "diamonds and dirt" when it came out in 88 and been a fan ever since hes a fantastic talent,"Keys to the highway"was next If looks could kill is my fav on that one "Life is messy" was ok for me still great but ok great then the next 2 let the picture paint itself and jewal of the south were very good but just didnt do it for me ,and then The Houston Kid" came out and he was back..........and he always has DEADLY players on his stuff.........still one of my favorite duets of all time is ITS SUCH A SMALL WORLD i think he has like 13 or so albums if your into great songwriting hooky chops and great players then start the collection today!
I wish i was BP for a day Just that day though(running an empire is hard work):D
For me it would be a huge honor to occupy the same satge as Rodney and sing a tune with him ,same as Dwight Yoakam and Pete Anderson 2 more of my Song writing/Players heroes ......Im just a 36 year Kid that still has few dreams left in him.

"Woo-hooo" seconded!

A certain skinny, 15 year-old guitarist has been working on his country licks this week.

I really don't think he's going to break out the country at this shindig unless duly threatened. It's a new frontier that he's just started working on. It's still very impressive to watch him do it, though. He just about put Andy and I on the floor last night with licks on that Albert Lee. Perhaps at some point in the future we'll be ready for a hoedown.

Heh.

There shall be no public country playing for me for a long time...The Albert Lee has inspired me to learn to play it though...Taylor Hicks??? That's a singer...WOW!!! I voted for him...I have been listening to my dad's Rodney Crowell cassettes...I am so excited...I have been practicing like crazy...I am not going to be able to sleep tonight...

And where is this gig?

And you should try Rodney's Fate's Right Hand and The Outsider

his last two albums.

And you might give a listen to Rodney's Albums
Fates Right Hand
and
The Outsider.

His guitarist Will Kimbrough has a killer album of his own - Americanitis.
