That's neat. I'm not surprised since he loves that Stingray. I think he's currently beating a Jaguar which is a really cool versatile bass so I'm not surprise he's liked the Bongo.

I'm not sure it's a steath since the pickup poles looked sort of shiny and so did the bridge???

The crowd go quiet when Pino plays the solo, good stuff.

Sweet!

Black Sapphire perhaps. That tone is what keeps me smiling with my Bongo.

I heard him do "my generation" on youtube playing the jaguar,
and I couldn't get over how...well, weak/lame/old/"not in my face" sounding it was.
maybe it was just the mix, but
I feel the bongo added a lot more balls and edge to the performance.
And man, you can recognize that tone from miles away.

Different amps too: Ashdown + Epihani Cabs with the Bongo and SVT with the Jaguar.

I like the sound of the Bongo and Ashdown / Epifani a lot more than the Fender Ampeg sound. I guess he is a total company man with Fender now. Read an article in Bass Player that was his new instrument of choice ( new bass Jaguar) for playing with The Who. That new setup sounds very dated and not in a good way. Sounds like the Ox from the 60's. He is still one of my favorite bass players out there.;) Just wish he was more versatile in his choice of axe setups. :(
