Maybe it's Lady GuyGuy. As-is, unfortunately, she's an attention starved freak on the money train. I didn't see anything compelling; much ado about nothing. Since we're done finding AL, close the thread, Jack.

How about my takes.

1. A poster has crossed the line when they bring tabloid speculation about gender. NOt acceptable.

2. If that bassist sold or disposed of the Big Al he is history with us. Period.

Let me make a point.....The more successful commercially an artist is the less likely they will be accepted here. Its human nature.

I've been watching this thread over the last day, wondering if we were crossing the line with certain aspects of the discussion. Until this thread, I really knew zip about Lady Gaga so at least I've had a bit of education about THAT. I watched the pre-Gaga clip of an attractive young woman sitting at a piano and playing some most excellent tunes. (Madonna never did THAT.) She appears to be a talented young WOMAN; again, anyone who looked at the Brit Award ceremonies would have been clear on her gender.

Male or female: wake my brain up with interesting music and then, who cares?

So while it's been a learning experience for me, let's allow it to be the same for everyone. The press, especially the gossip rags, will use whatever they can to sell you insurance. Use your brain. Use your heart. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Right?

Let me make a point.....The more successful commercially an artist is the less likely they will be accepted here. Its human nature.

Musicians are a weird bunch. We love having our own little personal stash of quirky artists who will NEVER be as big as sliced bread because the general public couldn't possibly understand......

But when they first hit, I thought U2 were sort of pedestrian and not all that interesting. I love them now, perhaps even in spite of them being The Most Famous Rock Band In The Universe.

I'll freely admit that I own both Lady Gaga albums. They are currently on my iPod nestled between King Crimson and Link Wray and the Wray Men.

Anyone who thinks she isn't talented isn't paying attention, or too blind/uninformed to realize it whether you like her music, or not.

Still doesn't excuse what happened to that poor Big AL. But, it is just wood and metal at the end of the day.

Wait--if I'm reading this correctly, you are in possession of a flat black Big AL. If that is the case, and you haven't posted detailed photographs, there is going to be some explaining to do.

The Stealth package doesn't normally do it for me. But, if there is one bass that I think I would like as a Stealth is a Big AL. So, you know, slowroast up some pics. With a quickness.

*I would prefer black dots on the rosewood fretboard. Which, of course, defeats the purpose of having fret dots-I understand. But, I still think from a Stealth perspective, it would really embiggen the Stealthiness.

True, I do possess a flat black Big Al. I bought it sight unseen. I was told it was black. I didn't care what color it was, it was a used Big Al in great shape. Took all of 0.5 seconds to think about. Then this showed up from the large brown bringer of delight:

I didn't mean to stir anything up, and I have no idea why someone who was associated with Lady Gaga would have unloaded this bass. I'm just glad they did. It is an amazing bass as all EBBM basses are, but I really love the Big Al and this one and me have clicked in a big way.

Sometimes God gives you a cookie....

Yes; I blew it. I followed the links to find out more and got burned by inflammatory material. To cool my flesh I came back to the forum and cast several aspersions I shouldn't have. She got more benefit from my reaction than if I had bought all her albums twice. My apologies to the forum and sincerest to LGG.

Keep the beer and pudding! I don't actually buy the U2 stuff, but I do dig it when I hear it. They could have kept doing the same record over and over and taking it to the bank, but they haven't. And some of those hits - yes, even the hits - were just perfect.
