After EVH left, did they still continue to keep the switch in the same spot for a period or has someone removed Eddie's signature from these headstocks?

The first one is advertised correctly -- Axis EX. I believe they were built in Japan with leftover parts during a transition period. I'm sure one of the other guys here will have better details or more specifics.

Yes, they are both Axis EX, were made in Japan for the Japanese market. They are just a regular Axis but without the model name on the head stock. As far as I recall, the serial numbers don’t appear in Music Man database.

Axis EXs have a veneer top & came with a gig bag not a case.
