People who say "f*** labels" need to stop and think for a second. If someone asks you what kind of music you play, do you say "it's just music, man"?

If you say "we just play rock and roll", that can mean anywhere from Little Richard or AC/DC. Sub-genres are a GOOD THING.

People like to hear a word or two in place of a paragraph-long description of how a band sounds.

There is not much of what I would call "post punk" (The Effigies, Naked Raygun) around these days. It was pretty much an '80s thing.
