That other thread is getting too big.

So when the order window opens, what are you thinking?

At first I was all hot for a Bongo, but then I started looking in The Bass Closet and thinking - what? I have every configuration a boy could want, sometimes in 4 and 5 string versions!

It's between a Sterling HH and a SR5 HH, but I'm leaning heavily towards the SR5 since I really play fivers most of the time. Think about that - a Martini Olive Green SR5 HH!

What's on YOUR mind?

Jack, order the Sterling HH and I'll order the SR5 HH. We can compare notes and then, well...you know what usually happens.

Good one Jack

Stingray 4 or 5 ( not sure yet) with maple board matching headstock most likely single pickup config.

OR

Stingray 4 or 5 with unlined fretless board matching headstock

There's at least one more Sterling in my future... But it won't be green!

Holding out for a miracle... ;)

Hey Doug, you have to read the entire thread called "Let's Be Honest Here" to get the evolution of the green.

Basically, all of my friends (both of them) and a number of Forumites have been lobbying for a Logan Green (aka Martini Olive Green) option for....well, years.

They built two or three a few years back and dealers wouldn't bite. "We can't sell green basses", they said, but Dargin ended up with a Bongo 4 HH and then there was some drama when I tried to sell my soul to the devil (might have been Sterling, I can't remember now) to get one, but Dargin's like the bottomless pit with his basses.

For a while, the Green Concept was quiet.

Then Sterling and Scotty and Dudley and the crew at SLO built me a green one which Sterling gave me at Open House (the Flaming Biff Bongo) and there was a resurgence of interest.

Finally, over the weekend, Sterling decided to do a limited run of green, any bass you want, and it was like pouring hot water on ants.

We should all know more about the order window and pricing later this week, but delivery, if all goes according to what I've heard, should be in November.

Just in time for the Dallas Birthday/EBMM bash!

Jack

If I could be sure it would be really light (like under 9 lbs), I'd order an HH Stingray.
Since there are no guarantees I'll probably go with an HH Sterling or a single H Bongo. I'm sort of leaning towards the Bongo but who knows where my head will be when the time comes.

Jack.... c'mon..... let's see if somehow we can't get a little half pint of the logan put aside until the Sterling 5s come out!! :D
With that said, i'd have to say that i'd love an HH SR5{if the Sterling5 is waaaay off from production}, maple board in the double D finish.

The Sterling 5, according to well-placed sources deep in the desert, won't show until NAMM in January '07.

Remember that the Bongos showed in January of 03 and we didn't get those until that November. Plan accordingly.

You know how the weight issue goes, Brad. If I could specify it, for you, I would.

The rest of you obsessed punters, no way. But for Brad, sure.

Ok Kids How about if we really do this and make the target Jackies and Erikas bday?
We will post a poll with various pickguards...Dargie will be the final judge..we will have the order open for only 10 days and then cut it off...

I completely missed this! Geeze - and I was away for just a few days!

BP, this friggin' ROCKS! And is another fine example of what sets EBMM apart from the rest.

Not sure if I can swing a new bass this year... There have been a few false starts and I've started planning for 2007, but suddenly I'm thinking I would love to have a GREEN one...

It'd definitely be a Sterling w/ rosewood and a matching headstock... :D

Since I don't have a Sterling yet, I'd go for a Sterling HS with rosewood board and matching headstock.

Big Pops, any chance we can get an all rosewood neck on these beauties? If so, I'll forego the matching headstock. :)
