Had a gig last night with my rig (see below- amp in bridged mode), in in fairly large room, w/ master at 11:00-- plenty loud w/ room to spare.

If a preamp is what you want, I've heard amazing things about the BBE BMAX-T. As for Power amp.....lightweight transformers are a plus.
