Andy,

Hey friend, absolutley no reason to apologize whatsoever and it was not in any way taken so seriously!!!:):)

You are correct in your "locking tuner" understanding!!

However, remember, I said that the windings had "nothing" to do with tuning issues or stability on locking tuners.

So, why would you still need a EB Power Peg?? ans: To make it easy to put the extra windings on.

I know what you're thinking - I'm not giving you the answer, I'll let another forumite post it. lol, lol, lol

This tool is cool for someone who does a lot of string changing on a regular basis. Honestly however, I need the exercise and have the time - so I'm going to stay with the old style hand winder or the even older style "human hand". But I'll mention this great tool to musicians whenever I have the opportunity, so I won't be seen as "not being with the program" .... :)

Come on guys, get with the program!!!!! LOL

First off, all of my Axis guitars do not have locking tuners.
Second of all, even if they did have locking tuners, you still need to put on extra winds - not for tuning stability though!!

Come on now, anyone regularly giggin out there knows why!

So, in conclusion, you still need a EB Power Peg.:)

It's because the string on a Floyd will usually break at the bridge end. Extra winds means you can loosen the locking nut, undo a wind or two, and restring.

:)

An excellent method of facilitating "live" playing. By the time the vocalist locates anyone in the audience who has a birthday, you're ready to take it off of standby -quick and easy!!!!!

Oh, and I always put the Ball end at the tuner, so in theory, if I didn't put extra winds on it, it becomes a locking tuner anyway.

Andy, I knew it wouldn't be long!!

........and of course the reason I never knew is that I have never used a Floyd Rose tremolo!!

I am going to call Strings & Things in the morning to order one of them, unless of course Brandt@TPB is wlling to bend the rules and sell me one haha :D Just kidding.... I can always get my better half to pick one up on her next Texas trip.

Hey Capt, Can S&T get hold of these things then? I don't see them available on EBUK yet.
