pre-eb frettless worth?

hi, just ran into someone whose willing to sell a fretless 78 stingray, inca silver. I've always wanted one of these basses and need advise as to what to offer

Based on the recent sales I've seen, and based on the fretless '78 that I have, I would say around $1600-1800. That's assuming that everything is original and in decent shape. It doesn't need to be flawless, you can expect some wear over the years. Check to see if it has the original pickup and preamp.
