Leave it as it is. I agree. All the missing parts. (The neckplate only has the musicman logo stamped, the serial number is on the bridge).
Agree with sanderhermans. And sometimes I wish I had a fretless.

Although the neck has been modified, it started out as a rare Pre-EB "NARROW BASS" neck option (1.5 inches at the nut).

As an after thought, the round hole at the very end of the neck heel was probably wood taken to plug the original G tuner hole before repositioning the new D and G tuners (???)

Isn't the round hole where the little metal plate would have been? This looks to me like it was originally a 3-bolt neck. Or is September 1980 too late for that?

Is the string spacing ok on the neck? Seems to me like a string xtra would make verry narrow spacing or top and botom strings being verry close to the side of the fb....? Just took another look at the pics and it seems lake a pretty professional overhaul thats been done. Like the veneer to cover up the old peg hole. And to reposition the tuners is a nice idea!
