thats horrible. but i think with that diagram i could get her working again. if i cant ill call rod or ernie ball. or someone we will get it fixed.

hey guys, what do you know about a stereo jack....is my bass supposed to have one or what???

Active basses usually have stereo jacks. That's why you need to unplug your bass when you aren't using it to preserve batteries.

All the early Basses came with a mono jack which left the battery permanently in circuit (ie always on).

The above is from a 1979 Sabre Guitar manual but explains the reasoning for leaving the battery in circuit.

The jack on your Bass is original.

P.S. Removal of the guitar lead from the jack didn't turn the battery off. The on-off jack feature was added at a latter stage.
