I’m looking to buy Jescar stainless steel fretwire for JP6 and options are: 7.25”, 9.5”, 12” and 16”. Which option is best for 15” radius neck?

from their webpage:

Q: Can you change the radius of the wire for me?

A: Our wire is manufactured pre-radiused. If you need a different radius, we can have it adjusted for you. This is a special order service. The minimum order to re-radius a coil of wire is 1 lb. The cost is $40.00 to re-radius the first 10 lbs plus the cost of the wire. There is an additional $2.50 charge per pound for each additional pound. Because this is a special order service, PLEASE EMAIL US before placing your order online. Fret sets cannot be re-radiused.

so, if you want to do it preradiused why not buy it in the correct radius to start with? :)

hth!

Or buy the 16" and a tool to radius to 15".

It s worth getting the radius correct for Stainless steel. A Fret Bender with rollers is the ideal tool or less good and a lot slower would be fret bending pliers.

Thank you both of you for help. I've found philadelphialuthiertools which make fretwire pre-radius 15" from 16".

Good luck with your re fret.

If you've not worked with SS before, I recommend not skipping any grits after you do a final level, dress, crown and polish. I've used micro mesh for the job, if you put in the work they are well worth it.
