Bill, last Friday my band was working on "Killing Me Softly" and I was grooving bigtime on my fretless Bongo 5 Hp. It was plain magical.

When we were done, the rest of the band was just gobsmacked by the sound I got out of it. I almost hugged my bass. Really.

I told them that as much as it cost, it was worth every penny for what had just transpired.

Pick some great fretless songs to indulge yourself with and have a blast!

Maybe fretless basses don't get the compensated nut?

I asked that question a while back. Fretless does not get the compensated nut. Intonation is corrected by ones fingers and their position on the fretboard.
